Brass & Winds Fest

Beyond concert band!

"Come on, Charlie, you've been hogging the trumpet all night. All these people need a turn."If you play flute, trumpet, trombone, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, tuba, euphonium, or any other thing that you blow into to make a sound, this workshop is for you.

You already know how fun concert band can be when you're playing a song you like and all the parts are coming together. Here, you'll be able to combine that feeling with the thrill of creativity as you work with the instructor to create original arrangements, plus improvise to create your own interpretations on the fly.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Enhance your sight reading skills
  • Learn to harmonize a melody
  • Experiment with the five notes that will sound good with everything
  • Enhance your rhythmic ability through exciting and challenging ensemble work
  • Play lots of new songs
  • Improve your stamina and tone
  • Experience audio and video of inspiring classical and jazz performances

The workshop will allow both one-on-one time and ensemble playing. The week will end with a performance for family and friends.

This workshop will be offered the week of June 11, 2012 at 56 17th Street in Ansley Park. Sign up now!
