Electric Guitar Arts
Make it scream, make it wail, make it holler - make it loud!
The bottom line is, you didn't sign up for guitar lessons in order to play "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." Yet there you are, strumming chords on your hand-me-down acoustic thinking that there must be more to life.
There is.
Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to pay your dues on acoustic if what you really want to do is play electric. You can jump right in.
In this workshop, participants (age eight and up) will be grouped based on experience so that everyone can get the maximum benefit. Your mind will be expanded in the following ways:
- Exposure to new and classic electric guitar performances via awesome video and audio experiences (as well as live ones!)
- New riffs, lead licks, and other memorable guitar parts to work on
- Effects master class: learn how to use delay, reverb, fuzz, and more
- Opportunities to play classic guitars: Gibson Les Paul & SG, Fender Tele & Strat, and maybe a pointy headstock or two.
- Amp techniques - learn to get the maximum tone with the minimum hassle
- Ensemble playing experience - jam with other guitarists and play with a full band (bass, drums, & vocal!)
If you want to take your electric guitar playing to new heights, this is the workshop to attend. We'll even lend you an electric guitar if you don't have one. The week will end with a concert for family and friends.
This workshop will be offered the week of July 2, 2012 at 56 17th Street in Ansley Park. Sign up now!
All Eclectic Music workshops are one-week, half-day workshops in which participants (ages five and up) are grouped based on age and experience. Two workshops can be combined to create a full-day workshop. Tuition starts at $160 per workshop and is 10% off until April 1.
