Shonda Hoffmeyer

is a piano and playground teacher and an early music specialist with Eclectic Music. She is originally from California but has lived in Georgia since 2003. She enjoys reading, studying foreign languages, and traveling with her son, Oliver, and husband.

Shonda has been playing piano since she was seven years old, and music has been a major part of her life ever since. She sang in school choirs, church choirs, and small musical ensembles, and she played the flute and clarinet in school musical groups. Although piano is her primary focus, Shonda continues to learn and to explore other musical instruments, such as ukulele, guitar, and mandolin.

Prior to joining Eclectic Music, Shonda attained a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and taught elementary school for eight years. Shonda continues to explore new ways to teach music, such as becoming a certified teacher with Musikgarten and attending numerous workshops and supplemental training. Shonda incorporates her education background in teaching children music, utilizing her understanding of differentiated learning styles, along with pedagogic strategies and learning games!
