Trial lessons are fine! They are not free - in fact, our per-lesson a la carte rate is slightly higher than our regular tuition. However, if you decide to enroll on an ongoing basis after having a good trial lesson experience, we can include that first lesson as part of your regular tuition at the usual discounted rate.

A trial lesson is a tryout of the teacher, not the instrument or private lessons in general. The experience of a music lesson, while enjoyable, does not provide the big-picture perspective necessary to make a decision. If you are not sure whether your child is ready for lessons, a trial lesson is not the answer. We recommend group classes if you are not sure which instrument is the right one, and a six-week trial of lessons if you are interested in testing a child's readiness for one-on-one instruction.
