Musical Theater Workshop with Tara Chiusano

Students will experience the process of preparing a scene from the musical Annie! The culmination of the week's work will be a performance of the song "It's a Hard-Knock Life" for friends and family. Students will develop their musical ears and learn basic theatrical concepts such as blocking, characterization, and how to work as an ensemble. No prior experience required. There will be an audition on the first day in order to cast the scene, but each child will have a meaningful and challenging experience regardless of which role is assigned. Taught by experienced director, musical theater performer, and music teacher Tara Chiusano. Performing credits include: Annie (Annie!), Ado Annie (Oklahoma!), Gherardino (Gianni Schicchi), Fruma Sarah (A Fiddler on the Roof), Gilmer (Godspell), Ariel (The Tempest), Irina (Three Sisters). Directing credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream, Chicago: The Musical, and Speed the Plow.

Cost: $180 per week (combine two workshops and each one is $160, combine three workshops and each one is $150)
