Piano Boot Camp
Calling all beginners: Pack a ton of fun and learning into a week!
About the dress code...It's hard to march in formation with a piano, but we'll figure out something. In the meantime, you'll be playing a lot of songs and learning all about the rules that make music work. There's more:
- You'll learn the shortcut to finding your way around the piano with the help of a giant keyboard you can play with your feet, and a tiny one you can only play with a stylus.
- "Twinkle Twinkle", "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and more...folk melodies will be easy to play!
- The two most important chords will become second nature. You'll use them in a dozen songs.
- Our musical puzzles and games make music theory fun. If you've ever wanted to be a note yourself, here's your big chance.
- Learn how to read music on the staff, painlessly, with our specially-designed books.
You'll also get one-on-one time with the instructor, ensemble experience (that means playing with other people - so much fun!), and the chance to present what you've learned in a concert at the end of the week.
This workshop will be offered the weeks of May 28, June 4, June 11, June 25, and July 23, 2012 at 56 17th Street in Ansley Park. Sign up now!
All Eclectic Music workshops are one-week, half-day workshops in which participants (ages five and up) are grouped based on age and experience. Two workshops can be combined to create a full-day workshop. Tuition starts at $160 per workshop and is 10% off until April 1.
