Pop Piano
Here's your chance to go off the book and directly to your favorite songs!
"Will y'all stop bugging me for 'Clocks'? I've moved on to 'Forget You.'"
If you've ever sat in the back of a recital listening longingly as a student wowed everyone with a rendition of "Let it Be" or "Drops of Jupiter," you'll love this workshop. Learn all the shortcuts that will get you playing pop songs right away. If you've already mastered the basics, you'll also enjoy learning:
- how to make songs sound smooth and professional by using the pedal correctly
- as many new songs as you can stand!
- an instant fix to make the left hand sound more polished
- how to make the right-hand part easier and better-sounding at the same time
- how to embellish chords with cool licks used by the pros
- the secret for figuring out songs by ear faster than you ever thought possible
- some tips for playing melodies by ear - and even improvising variations!
You'll also get plenty of one-on-one time with the instructor, plus opportunities to play in small groups. The workshop will culminate in a concert for your friends and family.
We recommend this workshop for students at least eight years old, who have at least one year of lessons. Participants will be grouped according to age and experience.
This workshop will be offered the weeks of June 25 and July 30, 2012 at 56 17th Street in Ansley Park. Sign up now!
