Video Production

Explore the art of multimedia storytelling.

Since this is the Eclectic Music website, if you are reading this you're probably a musician of some kind looking for some interesting things to do this summer. This workshop will give you that. But it's not just a random pastime: As a musician, learning how to use video is really the key to promoting yourself online these days.

When you shoot a video, you're might think you're just capturing what you're seeing. It's more than that, though. As you film, you're making choices all the time - based on things like where you point the camera, how much you zoom in, and what equipment you're using - which will influence what the viewer sees. And then, in the editing process, you'll make even more choices.

It all comes down to, what story do you want to tell? And how are you going to use your filming and editing tools to tell that story?

That's what we'll spend the week exploring together. At the close of the workshop, we'll premiere our work in a viewing party for family and friends.

This workshop will be offered the week of July 9, 2012 at 56 17th Street in Ansley Park. Sign up now!

All Eclectic Music workshops are one-week, half-day workshops in which participants (ages five and up) are grouped based on age and experience. Two workshops can be combined to create a full-day workshop. Tuition starts at $160 per workshop and is 10% off until April 1.
