Violin Class
A lighter alternative to private lessons, steeped in the Suzuki philosophy
Violin is a demanding instrument, but it has a well-developed pedagogy that is especially effective with young children. The Suzuki method is holistic: The whole child is educated, not just his or her fingers.
Since so many Suzuki strategies are designed to make sophisticated concepts tangible and relatable to kids, they work really well in a group context. Singing, movement, rhythm games, and ensemble playing are all part of this approach. The classes are fun, and they are slowly but surely building a strong foundation for each child's success on the violin.
You will find our group violin class a suitable introduction to the world of strings, and it is also a good complement to private lessons. As our program grows (and our students themselves grow!) we will be able to offer multiple class levels in addition to simply dividing children according to age.
Best of all, we offer flexibility: an a la carte scheduling option, a liberal attendance policy, and a program customized to your child's level of experience.
Ready to try it out? You can sign up via our form (a member of our office staff will contact you) and you can purchase class passes (and also sign up for specific class session) via our online system.
If you're not ready to try the class yet but would like to stay informed about Eclectic Music, you may wish to sign up for our email list.
Thanks for your interest in our program!
