Why Eclectic Music?

Why "eclectic" music? We collect the best we can find from a spectrum of sources, across disciplines. We love a wide range of musical genres, of course, and we've curated a dream team of skilled teachers who seek us out when they are looking for an environment that gives them both autonomy and support (which, in turn, they pass on to their students). We also collect the best teaching methods from around the world, and apply innovations from sports, business, linguistics, and new media to our work.

Why Eclectic Music?

  • Community. Lessons in your home are convenient, but group activities such as classes, jam sessions, recitals, open mic nights, and parties increase motivation and make learning an instrument more fun. Plus, just showing up for lessons at our studios is a great way to make friends and meet people to make music with.
  • Multiple Teachers Involved in Your Progress. Our teachers collaborate on curriculum, exchange tips and ideas, and work together to help each student develop as a musician. Our director is readily available to consult with you about your music education.
  • Great Pacing. We are passionate about keeping each student on a challenging yet comfortable track where they are learning to play well instead of just going through the motions.
  • Frequent Performance Opportunities. We offer recitals and other performance opportunities every month. This keeps momentum and enthusiasm high.
  • Convenience. Hopefully one of our three intown studios will work for your needs. Beyond location, we try to make life easier by coordinate sibling schedules, offering online account management and automatic billing, and offering programs that allow flexible scheduling.
  • Down to Earth-ness. Music can be intimidating! While we want to have a high standard of music education and expose our students to the highest quality music of the last several centuries, we are allergic to elitism and we are anything but stuffy. Our approach is practical and contemporary, whether you're learning Tchaikovsky or Taylor Swift.
  • Passion. This is an independent small business, and the backbone is our director, Casey McCann. She's been teaching piano, guitar, and preschool classes in Atlanta since 2002. Eclectic Music is her baby! She is always working to improve the quality of education that the students receive, and the quality of communication and service that clients receive.
